Ask clients for Google reviews

Updated October 1, 2026

The best time to ask for a review is right after a visit, while it is fresh. LOCLbox gives you a link that opens the Google review box for your business, so a client can leave stars in a couple of taps.

The review tools are part of Review Management, an add-on for Pro accounts ($19 a month). The Reviews page in your portal shows whether it is on for you.

Step by step

  1. Turn on Review Management

Open Reviews in the portal menu (on a phone, under More). If Review Management is not on yet, the page explains it and links to Settings > Billing > Add-ons, where you add it.

  2. Tell us which Google listing is yours

In Settings > Profile, paste your Google place ID (it starts with ChIJ) and save. The hint under the field links to Google's place ID finder, where you search for your business and copy the ID.

  3. Send your review link

On the Reviews page, the Request a review block shows Your review link. Press Copy link to paste it anywhere, or Text it to a client to open a ready-made text on your own phone, so it comes from your number and they can reply to you directly.

Keeping up with new reviews

With Review Management on, LOCLbox checks your Google listing about once a day and emails you when a new review appears. We cap how many Google checks we run each day, so as more businesses use Review Management your check may come every few days instead of daily. Each review on the Reviews page has Draft a reply, a suggested reply matched to the rating. Edit it if you like, press Copy reply, then Reply on Google to paste it there.

Google shares a sample of recent reviews, not every review, so the list may not show all of them.

Tips

  • Ask in person first, then send the link the same day.
  • Keep the ask short and personal. One message is plenty.
  • Answer every review, good or bad. Future clients read the replies.
